  • Background

I’ve always been a writer. I got my first paid writing gig at 12 years old when I wrote a story that was selected as the pilot episode for a children’s tv show. I was also a working film and TV actor as a child and teenager.

After experimenting with a few potential career paths (I started and quit film school, a photography program, and an interior design degree), I eventually found my niche in communications. Having come from a family of performers, I wasn’t familiar with the corporate world and didn’t know professional writing and editing was a thing outside of books or journalism. I began attending SFU’s Writing & Publishing program and knew I’d found the right avenue.

    Experience

I’ve spent the last 15 years honing and diversifying my communications skillset across marketing, UX, business development, investor relations, corporate social responsibility, and human resources. I've worked in a variety of industries including tech, mining, healthcare, wellness, cannabis, retail, and security. I’ve provided mentorship, encouragement, and support, and I’ve led teams and projects.

    Achievements

Over the course of my career, I’ve secured over $700M in revenue through proposal writing, doubled website SUPR-Q and accessibility scores, increased lead generation by 10-30X, established the investor messaging and brand stories for numerous funded start-ups, and implemented transformative internal communications strategies that increased efficiency and boosted engagement and morale.

I love language and storytelling, value relationships and genuine connection, and I’m passionate about effective communication. I write personal essays on my Substack, The Way Appears.

  • Despite his struggles with literacy, Bandit is an amazingly effective communicator. With his expressive face, soulful eyes, and heavy sighs you’re never left guessing about his feelings.

Bandit is ten years old and loves napping, snuggling, and barking at the neighborhood dogs. He hopes to one day catch a squirrel.

He earns his keep by boosting morale and offering unwavering affection. It’s widely agreed that he’s A Very Good Boy.
